Hatha yoga consists of postures (asana), the physical dimension of yoga and breath control (pranayama). The yoga postures give you the opportunity to learn about your body and how it functions, building strength and stamina as well as increasing flexibility. Through use of the breath in breathing exercises and by linking breath with movement you can begin to clear the mind promoting greater physical and mental vitality.
‘Ha’ means sun and ‘tha’ means moon and Hatha Yoga is commonly translated as yoga that brings union of the opposites. Through the practice of Hatha yoga – asana and pranayama, as well as meditation and relaxation - we seek to achieve balance between body and mind and ultimately a feeling of internal freedom. Regular practice can help restore a sense of peace and calm and help us face the turmoil of life with steadiness and stability.
Or organise a private lesson or book a weekly class in your home or workplace.
